Say Cheese!

So today was picture day. Picture day always holds a barrel full of surprises. The kids are either going to be calm and cooperative or running around like maniacs. Unfortunately, because their chritsmas pictures were so easy, and turned out so well, i knew that these pictures would be a challenge. Aubrey was in rare form today, bouncing off every wall from the moment she hit the floor this morning. So when we arrived at the portrait studio for the pictures, i was not optimistic. Mia had a meltdown right upon entering the store, and aubrey was literally running circles around the desk. I smiled, embarrassed, and nervously laughing. I could tell what the photograhper was thinking "oh my god, these kids are out of control!" After i distracted Mia with a movie for a couple of minutes while i signed us in, and she took a breather, she calmed down and we entered the studio. Mia immediately started posing and Aubrey immediately started running laps around the studio. Running behind the backdrops, pushing around the cameras in the tracks on the ceilings, hiding behind my leg, and Lexi just sat on the floor staring, as she always does. The photpgraher, we'll call her "Tammy", said "My, they have alot of energy dont they?" Which I knew was code for "what do u feed these kids, and why cant you control them?" As i attempted to heard the kids towards the center for pictures, i heard clicks going off here and there, hoping that some good shots were being taken. Aubrey was not interested in any of this, and was interested only in running around Mia and Lexi as if they were playing duck-duck-goose. After what seemed like a 5 hr photo shoot, we were done, and I rounded up the gang to look at the pictures. Amazingly, some good pictures were taken! But needless to say, i didnt get one with all three smiling, and Aubrey looks stark-raving mad in most of her shots. Her hair is all wild and out of place and her eyes are as wide as she could get them, with the weirdest smile ever on her face. And those were my favorite shots.
